The Salvation Army International Women's Ministries' Logo

The Salvation Army Women's Ministries' 'Reimagining' launched internationally on February 2020 with many promising new innovations - the redesigned logo being one of them! Read about the symbolism of this new icon and download the graphic below!

The Salvation Army Women's Ministries International logo was created by IHQ designer Jooles Tostevin-Hobbs, and features five birds emerging from the sun and the world. The birds represent the five zones in which The Salvation Army ministers, and the sun and world being one represents the life and light of our Gospel message.

‘The aim of this reimagined logo,’ explains Commissioner Rosalie Peddle, World President of Women's Ministries, ‘is to bring light, life and a freedom of spirit to all women around the world. Where thoughts, actions, and morals are, as they have always been, concentrated on the Bible and its universal message.'

‘These elements are designed to inspire women from any culture or background that at the dawning of each day, they are encouraged to unite as one voice and one body, where God’s love is always at the very centre of their being and lived out in their communities and relationships.’

Commissioner Peddle has outlined that the new IHQ Women's Ministries logo need not replace the current Home League logo: 'Let me reassure those in our Home Leagues that the house on the Bible still stands and will remain the symbol of the Home League that is very active in many parts of our world today.'

'But just as this logo represented the ministry and the mission of the Home League, it is out of the same thread that we wanted to create a logo that would represent the identity of a reimagined women’s ministry.'

She concluded: ‘God is calling us to be men and women of courage as we engage in his mission today! May we see the needs of women and girls around our communities through his eyes, and may we be moved with his love and compassion that we have no other choice but to 'Do something!' and 'Do it now!”
