Harley-Davidson’s United We Ride returns to support The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is excited to be involved once more with Harley-Davidson and the wider motorcycling community as the United We Ride charity fundraiser returns for its second year across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia.
Following a highly successful inaugural event in 2025, which saw more than 3,000 riders come together and raise over AU$160,000 (NZ$194,000) to support Salvation Army services, this year’s ride promises to build on that generosity and community spirit.
The 2026 United We Ride event will take place on Saturday 12 September, bringing together riders of all backgrounds and experience levels in a shared show of support for people experiencing hardship.
“The Salvation Army is incredibly grateful to Harley-Davidson and every rider who takes part in United We Ride,” says Chris Moody, Salvation Army Corps Officer in Westgate. “This fun event is about people coming together to support others in their community who are doing it tough.
“The funds raised help us deliver essential frontline services, including emergency housing, financial mentoring, and support for families and individuals in crisis. Contributions like this make a real and lasting difference.”
The inclusive nature of United We Ride, which is open to all motorcyclists regardless of what they ride, has helped establish the event as a growing annual fixture, uniting communities across the region for a common cause.
Chris says the continued partnership with Harley-Davidson reflects a shared commitment to practical compassion and community support, particularly at a time when demand for services remains high.
“We’re seeing increasing need across many of the communities we serve. Events like United We Ride not only raise vital funds—they also raise awareness and remind people that they are not alone.”
Participants can register and fundraise in the lead-up to the event, with coordinated rides departing from Harley-Davidson dealerships across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia.
The Salvation Army is encouraging New Zealanders to get involved, whether by riding, donating or supporting those who take part.
