Praying Together

Prayer Points

This week we want to pray for all of our young people and leaders as they join Easter Camps in Christchurch and Hamilton.

There are over 300 young people and leaders from The Salvation Army attending and so we want to pray the following things
for our young people and the thousands of other youths who will be attending:

  • safe travelling.
  • a new and deep encounter with the risen Jesus.
  • continued health and wellbeing leading up to, during and after camp 
  • good weather, and
  • the creation of lasting friendships

As part of our Territorial Strategic Framework, He Waka Eke Noa, The Salvation Army across New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa is committed to developing and deepening our spiritual life and our connections with our loving, creator God.

One way we can do this is to pray. We are seeking to strengthen our prayer life both personally and corporately because this is foundational to God’s power being at work amongst us. As an Army of many parts which is actively engaged across many mission fronts, we reaffirm the absolute imperative that we are a people of prayer.

Our desire in calling our territory to He Waka Eke Noa (All of us Together) – Praying Together is to help us go deeper together, celebrate God in our lives and seek direction for the future.

To help us with this call to prayer you will find resources on this page to help:

  • Run local prayer meetings in your corps, centre and community
  • Information about Online Prayer meetings that will be held throughout the year
  • And resources for a special prayer-focused Sunday

Our beautiful logo (which is available for your use in the resource section below) picks up on the theme of being rooted in Christ and the imagery of Jeremiah 17:7-8 of trees being planted by the river and roots going deep into the true source of life. May we each experience God in a deeper way as we unite in Praying Together this year.
