Rugby Support | The Salvation Army

Rugby Support

This Red Shield Appeal we have been blessed to have the support from the Blues, Hurricanes and the Highlanders.

Blues Men’s and Women’s teams:

We believe that the purpose of the Blues is bigger than the game. To us people matter, connections matter and excellence matters.

Our club is proud to partner with the Salvation Army and support their Red Shield Appeal which helps those Kiwis who are doing it tough.

Please donate today to support the Salvation Army and those in need.

General Manager (Commercial) Chris Yeo says about this year's appeal:

"The Salvation Army is a very important organisation in our community, one that provides a range of services that has direct impact on the lives of those, not just in our region but for all Kiwi’s who need help in their time of need.

The annual Red Shield Appeal will raise money for those who need it most, and in the current environment support is needed more than ever before.

It is a great pleasure for the Hurricanes to help raise awareness for the Red Shield Appeal and I hope the support we give helps those in need."

Head to the Red Shield Appeal website to donate, look out for the street appeal or head to the Match Worn Shirt website to bid for one of the 23 game-day jerseys we will auction from the Hurricanes v Waratahs game on Friday the 3rd of March to help support the Salvation Army in the great work they do for all kiwis.

Commercial Coordinator Samantha McAuley says about this year's appeal:

"The Highlanders are excited to help raise money for the Red Shield appeal on the 11th of May when they take on the Crusaders, the teams will be playing in their heritage jerseys with the Landers auctioning their jerseys off after the game.

The Highlander have been supporting the Red Shield Appeal for four years and are grateful for the experience to help.

All money raised supports the most urgent needs in our community."

On Saturday's game (11th of May) there will be people collecting donations and there will be the jersey action live after the game.
