Suicide bereavement

a grief stricken woman

It can be hard to know what to say or do when a friend has lost after someone has lost a loved one to suicide. This Talk Sheet is intended to help individuals and church communities offer pastoral support.

The Talk Sheet briefly explores historical and contemporary attitudes, provides an overview of suicide statistics in New Zealand and Fiji, discusses the recognised stages of grieving, and provides some practical ideas for caring for the bereaved.

A number of discussion questions are included for personal or small group study.
