Thousands of children will have the essentials they need to start the school year right, as New Zealanders join Warehouse Stationery and The Salvation Army to support families struggling with back to school costs.
The fundraising appeal, which marks a ten-year partnership between Warehouse Stationery and the Salvation Army, invites customers to add a dollar to their purchase at Warehouse Stationery stores nationwide from 21 January to 10 February.
Principal of Glendene School shares about the difference having school equipment makes to school children starting back at school each year.
Ahead of the fundraiser, the Kiwi-owned stationery and office supplies business has also advanced $30,000 worth of gift cards to support low income families struggling with back to school costs.
Salvation Army Head of Welfare Services, Jono Bell says it is important to give our most vulnerable children the best chance to succeed.
“School is a big part of helping our most vulnerable children and we want them to start the year right. A lot of our parents face tremendous stress trying to cover school supplies and other bills after the high cost Christmas period. Having back to school support is a huge relief to them and makes sure their children start the year confident and equipped to learn.”
Warehouse Stationery CEO Pejman Okhovat says “We want to equip all Kiwi kids with the essentials they need to have best possible start to the school year. We’re proud to have supported families needing help for the past decade, and every year we’re grateful to see how generous New Zealanders are to help others,” he says.
Thank you to Warehouse Stationery for partenering with us to provide Back To School supplies to kids all across New Zealand!
